Dear friends, colleagues and fellow flute players.
Many of you will have known or heard of Eva Stewart, Principal Piccolo of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales since 2002, who sadly passed away in August 2017 whilst on holiday in Egypt. It was a shock to all who knew her and came completely out of the blue. Eva was a larger than life character, a wonderful human being and an extremely talented musician and, not to put too fine a point on it, "a complete flute nut", enthusiastic about anything flute or piccolo related and fiercely supportive of her students.
I remember vividly our last conversations together, her discussing us supporting a new wind ensemble prize at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she taught for many years. The first competition was held in March 2017, with a second planned for summer 2018.
Eva leaves a collection of her instruments which come in all shapes and sizes, and her family have asked us to handle the sale of this personal collection on their behalf. The complete list and details of each item is available on this website, and we would be very happy to discuss any questions you may have. A proportion of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to Eva's favourite charity.
This Moore-Lamberson flute of Eva's is a stunning instrument, with Brosser F# and a brilliant scale.
In good condition throughout, this flute plays spectacularly well.
Condition can be highly subjective. This information is to be taken as a guide only. E&OE.

About Jack Moore
Jack’s instruments are characterised by a blend of functionality and practicality, which one rarely sees in other instruments. They are aesthetically attractive, however the key is that the instruments are designed to function practically. Jack’s work on bridge mechanisms is exemplary and the mechanisms are not complex but they never fail to work. This shows in all aspects of his work. In retirement Jack builds approximately one flute a month, working a few hours a day.
