Four Dance Sketches (Piccolo, Clarinet & Piano) (2012)
- Editor's Choice
This is unusual music for an unusual combination. The dances may be familiar, but the harmonic style is a little different, resulting in something unexpected each time. The rhythms in Boogie Woogie and Bebop are given a twist by the complexity of the part writing, and the Night Waltz is in an unexpected 5/4. The March is characterised by close intervals and strong articulation. Each movement would stand alone as a great recital piece which is also good news. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.
