“High Quality Unusual Flute Duets”
This is an unusual book of duets and most interesting to play. Most of Schocker's work is high quality and these short pieces are no exception. The 'cuckoo' does have the cuckoo call but there is a flurry of other feathers to accompany it. 'Flippant' alternates semiquaver figures and trills whilst 'pensive' is very aptly titled. It's not everyone's cup of tea but the book does make you think!
From the Publisher
Gary Schocker's new collection of 13 flute duets runs the complete emotional gamut with pieces such as "Mercurial," "Flippant," "Forboding" and of course, "The End!" Each piece stands alone comfortably, but they may also be combined for an exciting concert program. For intermediate players.
