Product Reviews: Altus 907 Flute

Just bought this flute an an open holed with offset G to replace my 20 year old Miyazawa. The tone across all of the registers is beautiful, the lower register performing much better than on my previous flute. Would highly recommend for the more advanced player.

Just got my new Altus 907 flute yesterday after pondering for ages whether to upgrade and to what. I have been playing a Yamaha 311 which has been fine, but this Altus is something else! It is so easy to switch between high register and low register on this and the middle register sounds beautiful. Also I find it easier to control the volume, vibrato and dynamics on the Altus and the high notes are no longer such a struggle. I had wondered if perhaps It was worth purchasing such a good (pricey) instrument for use by, at best, a mediocre player (me)....but I think this will help me improve no end....I already feel my playing has improved having only played it a couple of times. I can’t wait to get practising again tomorrow! Worth every penny.

The Altus 907E has the depth of tone I was looking for. It has a rich mellow 'woodey' tone which contrasts with the more metallic bright tone of the Miyazawa flute I originally purchased and did not suit my playing. I was advised to exchange it to the more mellow tone of the Altus 907E and I have not been disappointed.
