“studies with a difference”
This set of Studies have titles and moods which reflect the seaside name. 'Blossom' and 'Rock pool' have pleasing melodic lines and opportunities for dynamic range and musical expression. The composer's note on the specific technique developed through playing each study is extremely helpful to teacher and student.
These are studies are pieces that could be used to perform in a concert.
This is the first of her books I have purchased and I am keen to buy more.
“Hilary Taggart: Great book, as always”
As a very late starter on the flute, I enjoy Hilary Taggart’s books and ‘In The Sun’ is a favourite to return to time after time. She includes all the elements to make this a book that is rarely easy to play well but it challenges you all the time. My favourite is Ocean Tide, a beautiful piece, but with great varied pieces such as Centre Ville, Hillbilly Holiday, Winter Sun and many more, this is a super book for your flute library.
