Unless stated otherwise, all of our pre-owned, ex-demo and ex-display instruments are checked, set up or serviced in our workshop prior to sale.
Muramatsu are the oldest Japanese flute company, established in 1923. They have always had strong support from prestigious players around the world.
The ST model has the characteristic Muramatsu sound (rich and velvety) given increased flexibility and control through the addition of .925 solid keywork.
This flute is in good playing order and benefits from the addition of a silver Andrew Oxley headjoint. There is some scratching to the tube and there are a few small dings to the body, but these are purely cosmetic and do not affect the sound of the instrument. The flute is supplied in a new Beaumont flute case with shoulder strap, and with its original case (which is missing both clasps and so locks but does not open easily.) This flute has just had an interim service (thorough check over) in our workshop.
Condition can be highly subjective. This information is to be taken as a guide only. E&OE.

When, in 1923 Koichi Muramatsu began manufacturing Western concert flutes in Japan, the instrument was virtually unknown there: the population of flute players in Japan consisted of around 20 amateur and professional flautists, and the sound of the flute was almost entirely new to Japan.
As Muramatsu introduced the flute to Japan, the popularity of the instrument rose and the company grew. By the 1970s Muramatsu had established itself as the flute of choice for professionals and amateurs across the world. Many of these flutes are still going strong and sound as beautiful as they did back then, while Muramatsu - still family-owned - have continued developing their flutes to maintain their market-leading position.
