Our Description

Walckiers made himself a name as a composer and teacher he wrote more than 100 works for the flute, comprising: fantasias on opera melodies, sonatas, duets, trios, quartets, etc. which are highly popular. The edition presented here is based on a series of contemporary flute quartets. The Quartet in F major op. 70 is dedicated to French flutist Jacques Joseph Henricet who was born in 1815. Like the quartet in F sharp minor (and the numerous duets and trios written by E. Walckiers), this work also belongs to the group of technically difficult compositions for the flute.
