My teaching: I am a member of EPTA (European Piano Teachers’ Association). I teach children and adults of all ages, beginners, restarters and more advanced pupils. I aim to lay good foundations of technique, musicianship and notation-reading to enable pupils to play well and enjoy their playing. I am classically-trained but am happy and able to help pupils to play their favourite music whether pop, Disney, songs from the show etc.

I enjoy teaching children and adults of all ages. I love seeing pupils’ progress and helping them to achieve things that they perhaps thought were beyond them.

Some pupils choose to take exams but I don’t push anyone to do so who doesn’t want to; I have a 100% pass rate. One of my pupils achieved the exceptionally high mark of 140 out of a possible 150 for her exam. Other pupils have also passed with distinction including a grade one pupil who had only been playing for less than a year.

I help pupils prepare for Duke Of Edinburgh Awards, cub scout badges etc.

I also hold occasional pupils’ concerts, online, or face-to-face at a local venue, to give pupils the opportunity to meet and play to each other, hear other pupils’ music and to feel inspired to make more progress themselves.

Biography: I studied flute and piano full time at music college, at the Welsh College Of Music And Drama, Cardiff, for three years, where I was awarded the Principal’s Prize, and then a postgraduate year at Trinity College Of Music in London, achieving two graduate-level performance diplomas. After I left music college, I also studied the piano privately for several years with Anthony Digger in Malvern.

I have been involved with music from an early age, at school and in youth orchestras. I gained ‘A’ Level music and was awarded ABRSM’s Silver Medal and the Laura Marco prize for the highest Grade 8 flute mark of the year in the entire country.

I have been a visiting instrumental teacher at two schools.

I maintain a very keen interest in classical music and continue to practise to maintain and improve my own playing level. I have performed in concerts in such prestigious venues as St. David’s Hall, Cardiff and Birmingham Town Hall. I enjoy attending concerts and masterclasses. I particularly enjoy playing the piano with other musicians. I collect sheet music and books on music.
