Profile last updated: 8 Dec 2022

I have over 35 years of experience teaching both privately and in state and independent schools. Students attend my home studio where a relaxed and caring atmosphere enables individual needs to be addressed. All aspects of musical development are covered with musical imagination being encouraged to enhance enjoyment of the learning process and produce confident and memorable performances. Links are made between music learning tactics and other subjects with the students understanding and brain development high on the agenda. Help is regularly given to ease performance and exam nerves. One off consultation lessons are also available. Instruments for beginners are available to hire at very modest cost. Many past students have progressed to study music at university, and go on to perform or teach both in school or set up private teaching practices themselves Others play for enjoyment with various amateur bands orchestras and smaller ensembles.
