Profile last updated: 30 Nov 2020
Since the first time I lifted a flute, aged 8, I have had a passion for music. I played all the way through my school days in orchestras and ensembles as well as solo performances and went on to study at Queen's University Belfast. Graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2011, I majored in performance under the tutelage of Elizabeth Bennett of the Ulster Orchestra. During my time at QUB I was involved in operas, ensembles and premiering works by new local composers.
I teach all levels of flute and also beginner piano. Over the past few years I have also had experience in teaching saxophone, clarinet and conducting small ensembles. Recently I have also been taking fast track classes for music theory, covering Grades 1-5 in one year, as well as one-to-one theory lessons.
I am currently teach in Victoria PS, St Malachy’s PS, Clandeboye PS, and Dominican College Fortwilliam. On Sundays I play piano in either Ballyblack Presbyterian Church or Christchurch Belfast.
