Lara is a freelance flautist whose musical roots are in Northampton, where she played in award-winning classical and jazz youth ensembles on flute and sax. She is London-based, studying at the Guildhall. Lara is Guildhall Flute Prize Winner of 2024 as well as a Liverpool International Flute Semi-Finalist of 2024. She has played in masterclasses held by many respected names in the flute world.
As well as investing in her chamber music projects, Lara is performing electronic, jazz and indie music. Her passion for musical diversity is forming a path towards further studies in ethnomusicology, a topic she believes to be inherently tied to music education. She is driven by community and collaboration, fueling her work to inspire young musicians in schools and outreach workshops. Lara’s early experience in performing arts education was in dance teaching, encouraging children to find confidence in creativity. She applies the same creative principles to her woodwind instrumental teaching.What I teach:
