Katherine Bicknell

Hello, I am Katie Bicknell, a freelance professional flautist and teacher. I play with the major orchestras in the UK and have been guest principal with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Welsh National Opera, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra and The Royal Northern Sinfonia. I have performed in all the major UK concert halls and abroad including Glyndebourne, The Concertgebouw and The Lincoln Centre, New York.

As a flute teacher, both in private tuition and in establishments such as the Royal College of Music Junior Department, my students have had great success in achieving their full potential, whether this be leading to a professional music career or for the simple pleasure of music making. My Grade 8 (ABRSM) and diploma students have all achieved distinction and I have had the privilege of teaching some of this country’s finest young flautists.
