Emma Halnan

Emma teaches flute at her home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Her pupils range from complete beginners to music college students; young children to adults. Emma holds a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) teaching qualification, with Distinction.

Emma also teaches at Wells Cathedral School (specialist music school), the University of Cambridge and Kingshott School. She has given a masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatoire and the Oxford Flute Summer School.

Emma regularly prepares students for graded flute exams; she has an 100% pass rate, with most students achieving high marks. She was recently asked to compile the new repertoire list for LCM’s graded flute exam syllabus. 

Emma is able to accompany her students on the piano in lessons, and she also teaches music theory.
