Condition
The instrument is in overall good playing order.  Plating has worn on various areas of the key mechanism and wear and surface scratches are visable on main body.  The instrument has been played a lot over the years but signs of wear etc. are purely cosmetic and will not effect the overall performance of the bassoon. The selling price reflects these surface imperfections.

History
The quality of woodwind instrument manufacture in Markneukirchen was the hallmark of the two companies "Gebrueder Moennig" and "Oscar Adler & Co." founded in the 19th Century. Their tradition of
fine handcraft has now its revival in our firm.

Both companies were for a long time among the leading producers worldwide of woodwind instruments of the finest quality. Gebrüder Moennig received the Grand Prix at the World Exhibition in Paris in
1937 for their oboes and bassoons, while Oscar Adler received the honorary Prize.
