Description
The Haynes Classic "Q Series" flute features a handmade headjoint - made in the USA at the Haynes factory - married to a Beijing-made body. While many advanced players might wince at the idea of playing a Chinese flute, they really do not need to worry with the Haynes Classic - its feel is solid and the finish is so good it really could have come from a US factory.
...and it plays well too. This flute is responsive with a round, dark sound, with easy pianissimo in the top register. Like most American flutes, it's better with a B footjoint, but at only £200 more this is still great value. Try it with a 14k riser for a richer sound and slightly more resistance.
Haynes are the oldest American flute maker, and have been making flutes since 1888. Their traditional approach to flutemaking, combined with the best in modern technology, results in flutes with a unique feel.
