The business and assets of The Flute
Exchange Inc. have been acquired by Jonathan Myall Music.
Jonathan Myall Music are looking for someone to take over the online business of The Flute Exchange in the USA. Jonathan Myall Music don't feel they are in a position to run the core online business from their offices in the UK. Ginger Hedrick has built up a fantastic reputation over the past 15 years and it seems like a terrible waste for someone who is a "flute enthusiast" not to take up what is a genuine business opportunity. There is business to be had here it just needs some new blood to see and maximize the potential.
Some suggestions would be to:
- Widen the range of flutes offered
- Offer flute accessories and gifts
- Offer own brand instruments
- Offer selected sheet music and recordings etc.
Jonathan Myall Music would be happy to give any advice and support with these or any other projects you have in mind, but our intention would be for the new owner to run The Flute Exchange as an independent business.

A message from Ginger...
Dear Friends,
I am
happy to report that I have retired from flute sales, and sold the
assets of The Flute Exchange to Jonathan Myall Music. Jonathan
Myall Music is known and respected as the largest flute shop in Europe,
and has been in business since 1985. Jonathan has a stellar
reputation in the flute world, and I am delighted to pass the
business on to him.
The past 16 years have gone by so quickly, and I have loved every
minute of building and operating the Flute Exchange. It has truly
been an honor and privilege to work with so many wonderful, passionate
flutists, and I have thoroughly enjoyed assisting them in finding the
flute of their dreams. I have been fortunate to have more
performing opportunities in the last few years, so I’m not
leaving the flute world but merely changing gears to have more time for
playing my flute.
To all my past customers – it was an honor doing business with
you and getting to know you. To my flute friends and colleagues
– thank you for all your help, support and kindness over the
years. Very special thanks to “the girls” who
faithfully and tirelessly helped at the convention year after year
after year. It was too much fun, and I couldn’t have done
it without you.
