'In the course of my teaching activities I meet many young players (and some older ones) on the basis of a 'one off' consultation lesson.

They have often been playing for several years, and, though reasonably competent, feel that their technique is inadequate and shows no sign of developing any further.

The reasons for this, in my experience, are invariably some or all of these: inefficient use of the little finger keys, lack of break preparation, weak finger movements, lack of air support, poor articulation and mental confusion about scales and chords.

This book is a compilation of the various exercises I have written over the years to help people get to grips with these problems.'
